Is Matthew Hoggard on the England scrap-heap? And if so, why?

As far as I can make out, the guy had one disappointing Test - and it seems to have cost him his England future. What the heck did he do to deserve being dumped so unceremoniously? Snog Hugh Morris's wife or something?
