Where does carbohydrate synthesis occur?

your question completely caught me off guard. in school they only talk about lipids and proteins never carbohydrates. i guess its because we don't synthesize carbohydrate. only plants do that (photosnythesis) and that happens in the chloroplast of the plant. (in a process known as the calvin cycle in the stroma of the chloroplast)
